Semana Santa came early this year and even through the weather wasn’t the best, we throughly enjoy it with stops in Córdoba, Sevilla and Málaga.
On the Iryo to Córdoba
We started our Semana Santa adventure this year on the new Iryo train from Madrid to Córdoba. The new service is still limited but excellent.

Where to stay in Córdoba
While there are a number of good choices for spending a few days in Córdoba, we happen to like the H10 Palacio Colomera for style, comfort and location. It sits in the Plaza de Las Tendillas, in the middle of every thing.

Taberna La Montillana
We stopped in at Taberna La Montillana at Calle San Álvaro 5 for a few tapas before heading out to explore Córdoba. This is a classic serving authentic traditional Córdoba cuisine.

The Bullfighting Museum
The last time we were in Córdoba they were still working on the Museo Taurino. Now that it’s open, it’s quite the place, featuring all of the best matadors from Rafel Molina to Manolete to Manuel Díaz González “el Cordobés”. Well worth the stop.

Lunch in Córdoba
We finally had the opportunity to have lunch at La Taberna de Almodovar, a Michelin Bib Gourmand, and it was worth the wait. Excellent service.
