Dining in Haro
You have some excellent dining options in Haro should you be in the area. Chef Miguel Caño’s Nublo Restaurant, with one Michelin star and two Repsol suns, is considered to be the top destination for find dining in Haro, but if you want something without the Michelin star, one option is Los Caños, next door at Plaza San Martín, 5. It belongs to the same family as Nublo and has the same passion for gastronomy.
We have been following chef Raúl Muñiz and his wife Laura Gómez for several years, since they opened their frist restauant in the small village of Rivas de Tereso. They moved to Haro in 2020, opening Alboroque in a former bank space in the Plaza de la Paz in Haro. Their popular restaurant, with only 16 seats, received a well deserved Repsol sun earlier this year. Yesterday we had an outstanding steak tartar, along with a tuna tartar, paired with a bottle of Ana de Altún. They expect to open their new restauant, which will be located nearby, by early next year now that they have the permits.
Another new bar/restaurant that open recently is ETXEA in the Plaza San Martin, a few steps away from Los Caños. It’s a mix of Peruvian and Rioja cuise and has received good reviews on Google. Our friends from Villa de Ábalos recommend it.
Bar Beethoven remains a good stop for tapas/pintxos, as does Señorio de Haro.
